Zolo Torrontes ‘09. Another awesome white varietal new to me. $9 at Cost Plus World Market. $10 at BevMo for the Gaucho Select ‘08 version.
MandraRossa Fiano ‘07. One of the best and most interesting whites I’ve had in a while. Never even heard of this varietal before. $7 at BevMo.
Castoro Cellars Fume Blanc '08

Ok so it’s not under $10, but it’s close ($13), and just shy of $10 if you’re in their wine club. After a wine tasting trip to Paso Robles this past weekend, Castoro Cellars is now one of my favorite wineries. Great atmosphere inside, beautiful outdoor setting, and most importantly a great selection of both whites and reds, most of which were high quality and affordable. I don’t think I’ve even had a Fume Blanc before. Slightly chilled, it’s perfect for sipping on a sunny day in June. I haven’t seen it in stores yet, so it may be sold directly only.
Update 5/28/09: Just found it at my local Trader Joe’s for only $6! A bunch of other Castoro wines can be had there for a discount as well.
Blue Fin California Chardonnay '08

Nothing like a tasty white wine to start off the early summer. Drink at room temp or slightly chill to hold in the flavor. Only $4 at Trader Joe’s.
No official site so I snapped a pic myself.
